Hello, and thanks for visiting My Backyard Life! My name is Ben, and growing up, my parents had a huge backyard full of work and play.
As a kid, I had all sorts of unusual backyard pets (like deer and goats) and having friends over for cookouts or to ride the four-wheelers was the norm, not the exception.
Aside from all the fun times we had, I was also brought up learning how to maintain our large property. I picked up plenty of lawncare and landscaping tips and seemed to always be working on some big project with my dad.
As I grew up and got out in the real world with a place of my own, I started getting big into grilling. I was always known by my friends and family for my burgers, and I slowly branched out and started getting good with many different types of foods on a regular propane grill.
In 2019, I borrowed a medium-size Big Green Egg from my parents and I was enjoying the new challenges, techniques, and flavors so much that I ended up purchasing a used large-size BGE. Ever since that purchase, my propane grill has been just collecting dust.
Eventually, I expanded out further and got myself a Blackstone Griddle. I actually have a couple of those and even take the smaller one with us when we go camping (which we do a ton of in the summer months).
Speaking of camping, we bought a camper (our second one now) and love being able to take that places to have a home away from home.
My wife and I have two beautiful daughters and a black lab, and when we’re not camping, we’re still living the outdoor life right in our own backyard. We love to be outside and play in the yard, garden, and of course grill.
On mybackyardlife.com, I do my best to share all of these things with you. I’ve learned a ton over the years, and I hope to pass as much of that on to you as possible.
