How to Cook The Korean Ground Beef

This is a good time to get the rice cooker fired up. When the white rice has about 5 minutes remaining it is time to get the ground beef on the Blackstone for this delicious Korean Ground Beef Rice Bowl!

Start out by throwing the ground beef on the Blackstone and getting it browned similar to what you would do with taco meat.

Korean Ground Beef Rice Bowl Push Grease

As you are browning the beef, alternate between the left and right side of the grill so as it cooks you can push the grease back to the grease trap. This prevents ending up with a huge greasy mess at the end.

Korean Ground Beef Rice Bowl Add Half Sauce

Once the beef is browned and you have gotten most of the grease pushed back to the trap pour half the Korean sauce on the ground beef.

Korean Ground Beef Rice Bowl Flip

Flip the ground beef a couple times.

Korean Ground Beef Rice Bowl Add Remaining Sauce

Pour the remaining Korean sauce over the ground beef. Flip it a couple more times and pull it so it doesn’t get over cooked.

Place the Korean Ground Beef over some freshly made white rice and enjoy! If you are looking to add some more flavor try some sesame seeds sprinkled over the top and if you are looking for some more spice, simply add some more crushed red pepper!

This is a delicious Korean style dish that is super quick and easy to make, especially on the Blackstone Griddle! I originally learned how to cook this awesome dish from Chungah in which I've modified it to be cooked on the Blackstone Griddle.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 Cup - Light Brown Sugar
  • 1/4 Cup - Light Soy Sauce (Reduced sodium is preferred but regular will work)
  • 2 Teaspoons - Sesame Oil
  • 1/2 Teaspoon - Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
  • 1/4 Teaspoon - Ground Ginger
  • 1 lb - Ground Beef
  • White Rice (Best and easiest with a rice cooker)

Instructions

  1. In a sauce bowl start out by combining the brown sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil, crushed red pepper flakes and ground ginger. Mix together well.
  2. Place white rice in rice maker.
  3. When there is 5 minutes left on the rice place the beef on the Blackstone Griddle with the heat set at high.
  4. Brown the meat until brown as you would making taco seasoning. While cooking rotate the beef from the left side of the griddle to the right and push the grease back to the grease trap each time to remove the majority of the grease.
  5. Once the beef is cooked, add half of the Korean sauce and flip the meat a couple times. Add the remaining Korean sauce, mix in again and pull the Korean Ground Beef.
  6. Spoon over a nice fresh bed of white rice and enjoy.

Notes

If you like it more spicy simply add some crushed red pepper flakes on the top.

Another option to add some more flavor is to sprinkle a little bit of sesame seeds over the top.

Enjoy!
