BGE Buttery Garlic Parmesan Wings Ingredients

  • 1 lb – Chicken Wings (Otto’s is preferred)
  • 1/4 Cup – Butter (unsalted)
  • 2 teaspoons – Garlic Powder
  • 2 Tablespoons – Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon – Cayenne Pepper (Optional)
  • Parsley for garnishing (Optional)

How to Make Buttery Garlic Parmesan Wings on the BGE

Fire up the Big Green Egg and get it dialed into 350 – 400 degrees. I find that wings are best cooked indirect, but you can totally cook them direct too.

Place the wings on the grate and cook them until the internal temperature reaches 165 – 175 degrees (165 degrees min.). After the first 10 minutes, flip the wings so they cook evenly on both sides.

If you like a little more flavor profile to your wings, you can dust them prior to putting them on the BGE. I switch back and forth between naked and Cow Lick seasoning by Dizzy Pig.

  • 1/2 teaspoon - Cayenne Pepper (Optional)
  • Parsley for garnishing (Optional)

Instructions

  1. Fire up the Big Green Egg and get it dialed into 350-400 degrees. This can be done either direct or indirect (I prefer indirect).
  2. Once the BGE's temp is dialed in, place the wings on the grate and cook until the internal temperature is 165-175 degrees. About 10 minutes after placing the wings on, rotate them so they cook more evenly.
  3. While the wings are cooking and getting nice and crispy make the Garlic Parmesan wing sauce.
  4. Place the butter in a pan and allow to melt on low heat.
  5. When the butter is melted, add the garlic powder, Parmesan cheese & cayenne pepper. Mix together well and let it sit on low heat stirring as needed.
  6. When the wings have about 10 minutes left or at about 155 degrees, stir in the grated Parmesan cheese.
  7. Pull the wings from the BGE once complete (ensure the internal temperature is a min. of 165 degrees) and place them in a bowl that has a lid so they can be tossed.
  8. Pour the buttery garlic Parmesan wing sauce over the top of the wings, place the lid on the container and toss gently.
  9. Dump the wings on a plate, serve, and garnish if you are into that kind of thing, enjoy!

Notes

These wings are also great in the Air Fryer!

- Lightly spray the rotisserie basket with some Pam to assist with preventing the wings from sticking to the basket as it rotates.

- Place the chicken wings in the rotisserie basket and insert the basket into the air fryer. Turn the dial on the air fryer to air fry, set the timer for 30 minutes and leave the preset temperature set at 400 degrees. Start it and ensure you have the basket set to rotate.
