One of my favorite things to cook on the Blackstone Griddle is breakfast and with breakfast I love crispy hash browns (especially when camping). I have also found that pairing hash browns with Dizzy Pigs IPA seasoning is where it is at!
I also had room on the Blackstone when I was cooking hash browns, so I threw on some bacon because, why not?
Blackstone Crispy Hash Browns Ingredients
- Hash browns (I prefer to use frozen store bought but shredded Russell potatoes will also work great)
- Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- IPA Seasoning by Dizzy Pig
How to Make Crispy Hash Browns on the Blackstone
The key to a successfully cooking hash browns is getting the griddle and oil hot so that the hash browns have something to fry in. Start out with a moderate amount of oil in which I personally prefer using extra virgin olive oil.
The hash browns can either be thawed or frozen in which the frozen will obviously just take longer to cook. If you are using frozen hash browns like I am, just use the edge of the Blackstone spatula to chop it apart creating a nice even layer on the griddle.
After a few minutes push the hash browns to the side, add extra virgin olive oil and flip the hash browns onto the new oil.
Repeat this process until they are done to your liking. If you are using seasoning like Dizzy Pigs IPA, I prefer to add the seasoning after the second flip.
This allows the hash browns to cook and not burn the seasoning. Once they are crispy to your liking, pull them, plate them and enjoy!

Notes
Hash browns are best cooked on high. If cooking them in the winter a stainless steal dome lid can be placed over them to help them cook faster. Enjoy!
